PP Pleated Filter Cartridge Features
The following features are organized from the supplied INCE filtration PP cartridge sheet and rewritten for industrial buyers comparing filtration accuracy, service life and housing compatibility.
Multilayer Ultrafine PP Media
The filter medium uses multilayer polypropylene ultrafine fibers designed for stable filtration with low fiber shedding in compatible liquid systems.
Gradient Pore Structure
Gradient pore distribution combines particle interception with a high-strength support layer, improving dirt holding capacity and helping protect downstream terminal filters.
Large Pleated Surface Area
A large membrane filtration area supports higher flow, lower pressure difference and longer service life than compact cartridges with less usable media area.
Wide Chemical Compatibility
Polypropylene construction is suitable for many water-based liquids, process fluids, selected acids, alkalis and industrial chemicals when compatibility is confirmed.
Hot Melt Welded Construction
The cartridge is sealed by hot melt welding without adhesive, helping reduce contamination risk and improve structural integrity.
Multiple Housing Interfaces
Flat, 215, 222, high 222, 226, threaded and fin-style end caps can be selected to match different industrial filter housings.
PP Pleated Cartridge Structure
The cartridge combines PP filtration media, non-woven support layers, an outer support cage, a polypropylene or 316L stainless steel center core and custom end cap interfaces.
Material & Construction Introduction
PP Core
All-polypropylene configurations provide broad compatibility for water and general process filtration.
316L Insert
A stainless steel insert or center core can be selected when greater strength or thermal support is required.
Steam / Hot Water Use
The product sheet recommends a stainless steel insert for cartridges exposed to hot-water sanitization or steam sterilization.
PP Pleated Filter Cartridges by Micron Rating
Filtration accuracy should be selected according to particle size, required cleanliness, downstream equipment sensitivity, flow demand and acceptable pressure drop.
Fine Filtration & Process Polishing
Fine PP cartridges are used where high particle interception and low downstream contamination are required. Lower micron ratings normally create higher pressure drop at the same flow.
General Industrial Liquid Filtration
These ratings balance particle removal, flow rate and service life for process water, RO pretreatment, food and beverage utilities, chemicals and electronics filtration.
Coarse Pre-Filtration & Equipment Protection
Coarser PP Pleated Filter Cartridge provide lower resistance and are commonly used before fine cartridges, membranes, pumps, nozzles or sensitive downstream equipment.
PP Pleated Filter Cartridges by Size
Length, outside diameter and inside diameter must match the housing and sealing system. Send the current cartridge model, drawing or sample dimensions for replacement confirmation.

Micron Rating, Retention Efficiency & 0.22 µm Selection
Micron size is only one part of cartridge performance. Final selection should also confirm retention efficiency, test method, operating conditions and any validation requirements.
Nominal vs. Absolute Rating
Do not assume that a listed micron value automatically means absolute retention. Confirm whether the selected PP media grade is nominal, high-efficiency or absolute rated, together with its stated particle-retention efficiency.
Is 0.22 µm Sterilizing Grade?
No conclusion should be made from 0.22 µm alone. A 0.22 µm rating does not by itself establish sterilizing-grade performance. Microbial retention, integrity testing and validation documentation must be confirmed separately when required.
Temperature & Sanitization
INCE filtration lists normal operation at ≤55°C and 80°C at ΔP ≤0.10 MPa. For hot-water sanitization or steam exposure, the exact cartridge construction, stainless-steel insert and cycle conditions must be confirmed before use.
PP vs. PES vs. PTFE vs. Nylon Pleated Filter Cartridges
Use media chemistry and process requirements to choose the cartridge family. Micron rating alone should not determine the material.
| Media | Primary Selection Reason | Typical Use Direction | Product Page |
|---|---|---|---|
| PP | Economical polypropylene construction with broad use in compatible aqueous and industrial process liquids. | Water treatment, RO pretreatment, chemicals, electronics and general process filtration. | Current product |
| PES | Alternative pleated media when PES chemistry and the required fine-filtration performance are preferred. | High-purity water, beverage and process-liquid applications subject to grade-specific validation. | PES Pleated Cartridges → |
| PTFE | Selected where PTFE chemical resistance is required for more aggressive process conditions. | Aggressive chemicals, selected solvents and gas/liquid duties subject to exact media compatibility. | PTFE Pleated Cartridges → |
| Nylon | Selected where nylon media compatibility and mechanical characteristics fit the process. | Inks, coatings, selected solvents and compatible industrial liquids. | Nylon Pleated Cartridges → |
