Explore requirements

Liquid filter bag selection brings together four decisions: the media, the retention requirement, the finished dimensions and the housing interface. This resource center helps industrial buyers prepare a specification that can be checked, quoted and repeated across future orders.

Choose the right starting point

Your question Resource
Which polymer and media structure should I compare? Filter bag material comparison
What does the micron number mean? Micron rating chart
Will the bag fit my housing? Size and fit guide
When should it be changed? Replacement planning

Compare material families

Start with liquid chemistry and exposure conditions, then choose the media structure. Polypropylene, polyester, nylon and PTFE describe polymers. Felt and mesh describe structures; stainless steel additionally requires an alloy and weave specification. A material name does not establish the finished bag’s efficiency or operating limits.

  • PP and polyester: compare the exact media grade, finish, seams and wetted components.
  • Nylon and other meshes: specify the opening and construction, not just a mesh count.
  • PTFE: confirm the complete construction and the qualification of every wetted component.
  • Custom metal or felt constructions: agree the finished drawing and test requirements.

Use the application to define success

A water-recirculation loop, a pigmented coating and a food ingredient need different acceptance tests. Write down what must be removed and what must remain in the liquid. Then evaluate the filtration stage within the actual process, including downstream requirements and maintenance constraints.

For purchasing, use one approved configuration record containing the material, retention definition, ring drawing, body dimensions, service criteria and documentation. A successful sample trial should lead to a reproducible part specification rather than an informal instruction to supply the same bag again.

Plan a complete bag filter system

The bag depends on a compatible housing, support basket, sealing interface and operating procedure. Compare inlet and outlet quality together with flow, temperature and differential pressure. If the arrangement changes, evaluate the system again; adding finer media does not automatically solve every quality problem.

Build a clear specification

Select liquid filter bags by the job they must perform: define the liquid, the unwanted particles and the accepted outlet condition before comparing grades. Give the reviewer enough information to separate media selection from housing fit.

Make the specification repeatable

For liquid filter bags used in recurring production, keep the approved drawing and media description together. If the liquid, cleaning procedure or required quality changes, review the specification again rather than automatically ordering the previous configuration.

Plan the acceptance review

Evaluate liquid filter bags using a documented sample trial, then record the accepted part, operating conditions and inspection requirements. This gives purchasing and production the same reference for future orders.

Frequently asked questions

Does this center list every available grade?

No. The selection resources explain what to specify. Confirm the exact commercial configuration and technical data in the quotation.

Can one bag handle every industrial liquid?

No. Suitability depends on chemistry, operating conditions, retention needs and the complete assembly.
