Polypropylene felt
A candidate for compatible aqueous and chemical process liquids. Confirm concentration, operating temperature and the full bag construction.
Specify the right bag for intermediate particle removal, process-liquid clarification and downstream equipment protection.
Match your 40 µm requirement to the filter media, housing dimensions, seal and operating conditions. Send your current bag specification or process details for a production quotation.
Request a 40 Micron QuoteExplore SpecificationsAn intermediate grade between 25 and 50 µm. Confirm the rating method and retention efficiency for your selected media.
Bag fit + media compatibility + sealing performance all matter.
A micron designation describes a filtration grade, but does not fully define capture efficiency. A felt bag uses a depth structure; woven mesh separates particles primarily at its openings.
For a critical process, specify the required efficiency, particle challenge and test method as well as the micron rating. Validate the complete bag and seal in your operating conditions.
A 40 µm label is not a promise of 100% removal above 40 µm. Avoid substituting a nominal felt bag for a validated absolute-rated element without checking the process requirement.
Ask for the selected media specification and supporting test data where required.
Discuss the options below with Incefiltration. Exact 40 µm availability and construction must be confirmed for each media type.
A candidate for compatible aqueous and chemical process liquids. Confirm concentration, operating temperature and the full bag construction.
A candidate for compatible process liquids where polyester properties suit the application. Specify polyester (PET) clearly when requesting “PE” bags.
A surface-screening option where nylon is compatible. Specify the required opening and tolerance; confirm that a 40 µm mesh construction is available.
Compare equivalent media families and bag sizes. Micron rating alone cannot predict flow or replacement frequency.
Consider when the process needs finer particle control than the 40 µm grade.
View 25 micron filter bagsConsider when your process specification calls for a grade between 25 and 50 µm. Trial the bag against your downstream quality requirement.
Consider when a coarser grade meets the process requirement. Pressure drop and service life still depend on operating conditions.
View 50 micron filter bagsThe following is an enquiry specification guide. Final dimensions and performance must be confirmed on the quotation or approved drawing.
| Parameter | Selection / confirmation |
|---|---|
| Filtration grade | 40 µm; specify nominal retention, tested efficiency or mesh opening as applicable |
| Media | PP felt, polyester felt or nylon mesh subject to 40 µm availability and compatibility |
| Bag size | Size #01, #02, #03, #04 or custom diameter × length; verify housing fit |
| Ring / collar | Plastic or metal configurations; confirm profile, diameter, seal and material |
| Seams | Sewn or welded where appropriate for the selected media; specify leakage requirements |
| Operating limits | Confirm temperature, differential pressure, viscosity and chemical exposure for the complete assembly |
| OEM requirements | Labels, packaging, drawings, samples, quantities and documentation |
| Size | Diameter × length reference | Ordering check |
|---|---|---|
| #01 | 180 × 430 mm | Confirm collar and measurement method |
| #02 | 180 × 810 mm | Confirm usable basket length |
| #03 | 100 × 230 mm | Confirm compact housing fit |
| #04 | 100 × 380 mm | Confirm diameter and sealing profile |
| Custom | Per approved drawing or sample | Supply dimensions and tolerances |
These reference dimensions follow this site's existing bag range; size labels and nominal inch designations vary by supplier. Use the approved millimetre drawing for ordering.
Suspended-particle reduction before downstream equipment or finer filtration. Determine whether the remaining particle distribution meets your process needs.
Screen compatible liquids for agglomerates and process debris. Check whether retained material includes valuable product components.
Evaluate debris removal in compatible lubricants or coolants. Account for viscosity when sizing the bag area and housing.
Liquid, concentration, temperature, viscosity, flow and solids loading. Add the downstream quality target.
Housing model, bag dimensions, collar profile, seal and seam. Include a drawing or existing bag sample.
Agree on media, retention criteria, sample evaluation, quantity, packaging and documentation before the production order.
40 microns equals 0.04 mm. For felt media, a micron label is a nominal retention rating unless a tested efficiency specification states otherwise. For woven mesh, opening size describes the mesh geometry. Neither alone guarantees complete removal of every particle above 40 µm.
Compare media from the same product family. A 25 µm grade generally provides finer particle control, 40 µm is an intermediate selection, and 50 µm is coarser. Actual flow, pressure drop and service life depend on liquid viscosity, solids loading, media area and operating conditions.
Send the housing model, bag diameter and length, collar dimensions, seal style and a sample or drawing. A matching micron label does not by itself establish fit or equivalent filtration performance.
Some mesh bags can be cleaned when the process permits it. Inspect the mesh, seams and sealing surface before reuse. Felt bags are generally treated as disposable consumables; cleaning does not establish restored filtration performance.
Use the differential-pressure limit specified for the bag and housing, or replace sooner if flow falls below the process requirement or damage is found. There is no universal replacement interval.
Provide the liquid and concentration, temperature, viscosity, flow rate, target particle control, bag size, collar or ring, required quantity and any documentation requirements. Confirm 40 µm media availability and the final specification before ordering.
Send your media preference, housing model, dimensions, operating conditions and quantity. We will confirm the proposed specification and quotation details.
